The first family Film directed by Martin Scorsese and the first project in 3D, which is a beautiful picture in almost every way. Lovingly designed and photographed and telling the story of an attractive and beautiful, while also sneak in a brief to the cause of pet film director of preservation.
After a year of blockbuster 3D lazy Hugo , had been far the most elaborate and well-considered design in 3D; would be upset if Dante Ferretti's production design and cinematography Robert Richardson did not become an Oscar favorite (the same goes for Howard Shore's score.) The railway station, in particular, is a wonder to behold.
The Film, obviously a labor of love for Scorsese, a repeated visual motifs and subtle shadow tones, while all sorts of future events. It is also probably the first children's film in history to double as propaganda for the cause of preservation of classic films. And I mean that in the best possible way.
Of course, it is also well after the silent era ignored by Hollywood for decades, there have been two films released in the next few weeksHugo (and Franklin Institute, which is also where I saw the movie.)
Hitting theaters this week, as wellbeloved characters of Jim Henson in 13 years, is a loving, loyal and highly entertaining adaptation of who got what Muppets and why people love about them.
