Local artist living a dream as his work is installed in the contemporary Galleries …

CLEVELAND-Dexter Davis has a contagious laugh and it's easy, something he put it well in his job as a security officer at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Over the past 20 years he has walked through the Gallery's priceless masterpieces from the greatest artists in the history of Cleveland's world class museums.

Earlier this year on the show about two dozen Davis originals in William Busta Gallery in Cleveland, every single part sale. This is a great day for Dexter Davis, and the beginning of even greater. Cleveland Museum of Art acquired a large collage Dexter Davis called "Black heads" earlier this year. Just this month, contemporary pieces are installed in the museum gallery.

Davis still tried to take it all in. Laughing, he says "I still find myself having to pinch myself to wake up and see if it still happens!"

Picture curator Heather Lemonides acknowledged that Davis joined a select group of local artists who can see their work on exhibit at the museum.
